LUSH Angels on Bare Skin - Face & Body Scrub

What LUSH says:

As gentle and beautiful as being kissed by angels.

Sometimes the best ideas are the old ones. This cleanser is based on an age old formula that uses the best of ingredients to amazing effects.

Angels on Bare Skin evens out skin tone, reduces redness and improves the health and appearance of your skin - giving a natural healthy glow.

The ground almonds in this product release their goodness and turn to an almond milk on your hand when you add water.

Price: OMR 7.800

The Claims & How to Use

My experience:

LUSH always come up with enticing names for its products. Be it a wee pot of lip scrub or huge tumblers of body care - each delicious product comes with an equally exciting name.

On my visit to the LUSH store in Muscat, I picked this cleanser up as I was looking for a natural solution to all the facial problems I faced after switching countries.

For reference I have a combination of oily & extremely sensitive skin.

The skin related issues I have been facing for a while include change in skin texture, uneven skin tone, breakouts and acne scars. I was looking for natural ways to cure my skin than trying chemically loaded goodies.

I have been using Angels on Bare Skin for a few days now and I must say I am pretty pleased with the results. It is a very gentle cleanser with scrub like granules which are good for everyday use. Sometimes I use it twice a day especially after returning home after a tiring day at work.

The natural concoction of ground almonds, glycerine, lavender oil, chamomile blue oil and other good things (mentioned in the ingredients list) do seem to work on my skin. As a result my skin feels as though caressed by angels - magically soft, supple and moisturised. But it does not thoroughly cleanse the stubborn black heads on my face.

Thumbs up for no break outs and no addition to my facial oil reservoir. It also does not strip the natural moisture of my face.
The freshly ground scrub

It has the smell of freshly ground ingredients such as almonds and a higher note of lavender. If you have a sensitive nose I'd suggest you better check it out at the store first.

As far as the claim of making the skin tone even is concerned I haven't seen a relative difference in my skin tone. Let's be fair - I have only be using it for about a week. I'd give it some more time to test this claim.

So, do I recommend it?

Yes. If you are looking for a mild & natural cleanser cum scrub to use everyday on your face and body give this a try.

Will I purchase this again?

Yes. But I'd also like to test other cleansers from LUSH - I might find better ones you see.

Rating: 4/5

Lush opens first store in Muscat... finally.

For those Omani residents waiting to restock on their favourite Lush products the wait is finally over.

The British brand of handmade beauty products has finally opened its first store in the newly extended Muscat City Centre.

Because bathing is an art

My first mini haul from Lush Muscat

I absolutely could not hold my excitement as a Lush outlet in Muscat meant no long drives to Dubai or the expensive online shopping. I therefore decided to explore the place the last weekend despite my busy schedule.

As I walked into the single shutter store an overwhelming sweet aroma awakened my senses. I quickly grabbed one of the jute (?) baskets at the door and rushed inside to fill my supplies.

Unfortunately some of my favourites such as the absolutely delicious lip scrubs and magical face masks were still not available.

But who walks out of a Lush store empty handed?

I therefore picked up a few items such as their famous Bath bomb, a sugar body scrub, a face scrub and a hair mask.  I shall review these soon so watch this space for more.

Inside LUSH
The decor was their signature design reminding me of my frequent visits to their stores in London and Aberdeen. It certainly brought back fond memories.

The staff is quite multi cultural and very friendly. There was a lady from the Philippines who was beside me all the time for my assistance. Sweet, ain't it?

But for now I am desperately awaiting new stock arrival to help me fill my Christmas stockings.

Cheers,

Fatima xx
